메인 창은 4개의 탭으로 이루어져 있습니다The main window has four tabs

검색창 오른쪽 위의 탭으로 모드를 전환합니다. 빠른 검색 · 정밀 검색 · Luna · Apps 순서이며, 로고 옆의 초록 점은 검색 엔진 상태, 번개 버튼은 Boost 토글입니다. 오른쪽 끝의 확대 버튼으로 창을 키우고, 톱니 버튼으로 설정을 엽니다. Switch modes with the tabs at the top right: Quick Search · Precise Search · Luna · Apps. Next to the logo, the green dot shows engine status and the lightning button toggles Boost. The expand button enlarges the window and the gear opens Settings.

빠른 검색 — 파일명·폴더·경로로 즉시 찾기Quick Search — instant lookup by name, folder, path

두 글자 이상 입력하면 파일명·폴더명 매칭 결과가 즉시 나타납니다(최대 500건). 결과에는 파일명, 상위 경로, 수정 날짜, 크기가 표시되고, 폴더가 매칭되면 폴더 행도 함께 나옵니다. Type two or more characters and matches on file and folder names appear instantly (up to 500). Each row shows the file name, parent path, modified date, and size; matching folders appear as folder rows.

• 파일 열기: 행을 클릭하거나 Enter를 누르면 기본 프로그램으로 열립니다.Open a file: click the row or press Enter to open with the default app.
• 우클릭 메뉴: 파일 열기 / 폴더 열기(탐색기에서 해당 위치 표시)를 선택할 수 있습니다.Right-click menu: Open file, or Open folder (reveals the file in Explorer).
• 정렬: 목록 머리글로 관련도·파일명·수정 날짜·크기 기준 정렬을 바꿀 수 있습니다.Sorting: use the column headers to sort by relevance, name, modified date, or size.
• 검색 대상 수: 입력창 아래 알약에 현재 인덱스에 등록된 파일 수가 표시됩니다.Search target count: a pill under the input shows how many files are currently indexed.

필터 패널과 검색 연산자The filter panel and search operators

결과가 너무 많으면 필터 버튼으로 확장자·수정일·생성일 조건을 걸 수 있습니다. 같은 조건을 검색어 안의 연산자로도 입력할 수 있는데, 완성된 연산자는 자동으로 필터로 옮겨지고 검색어에서는 사라집니다. When there are too many results, open the Filter panel to constrain extension, modified date, and created date. The same conditions can be typed as operators inside the query — completed operators are converted into filters automatically and removed from the query text.

문서 유형Document types

“보고서만”, “계약서만” — 문서 유형으로 좁히기“Reports only” — narrowing by document type

결과 위의 전체보기 드롭다운을 열면 보고서·제안서·계약서·회의록 같은 문서 유형으로 결과를 좁힐 수 있습니다. 유형은 문서의 파일명과 내용 키워드를 기준으로 자동 분류되며, 분류 규칙(유형 이름과 키워드)은 설정 → 분석 탭에서 직접 수정할 수 있습니다. The All dropdown above the results narrows them by document type — Report, Proposal, Contract, Minutes, and so on. Types are assigned automatically from file names and content keywords, and the classification rules are fully editable in Settings → Analysis.

정밀 검색 — 문서 안의 문장으로 찾기Precise Search — find by sentences inside documents

파일명이 기억나지 않을 때 쓰는 모드입니다. 문서 본문을 검색해 검색어와 가까운 문장(스니펫)을 찾아주고, 파일별로 묶어 페이지 수와 함께 보여줍니다. 왼쪽에서 문서를 선택하면 오른쪽 근거 미리보기 패널에 페이지별 근거 문장이 나타나므로, 문서를 열기 전에 맞는 문서인지 먼저 확인할 수 있습니다. Use this when you cannot remember the file name. It searches document contents and returns snippets close to your query, grouped per file with page counts. Select a file on the left and the evidence panel on the right lists matching passages by page — so you can confirm it is the right document before opening it.

• 파일 열기 / 탐색기에서 열기: 근거 패널 아래 버튼으로 원본 문서나 저장 위치로 바로 이동합니다.Open file / Open in Explorer: buttons under the evidence panel jump to the document or its location.
• 그리드/리스트 전환: 결과 위 아이콘으로 카드형·목록형 보기를 전환합니다.Grid/list toggle: switch between card and list layouts with the icons above the results.
• 문서 단위: PDF·HWP는 페이지, PPT는 슬라이드, Excel은 시트, 텍스트 계열은 문단 단위로 근거를 찾습니다.Evidence units: pages for PDF/HWP, slides for PPT, sheets for Excel, paragraphs for text formats.
• 필터 공유: 확장자·날짜 필터와 문서 유형 선택이 정밀 검색에도 그대로 적용됩니다.Shared filters: extension/date filters and the document-type selection also apply here.

검색 품질의 기반Behind the results

인덱싱 상태 읽는 법Reading the indexing status

Findex는 감시 폴더를 두 단계로 처리합니다. ① 파일 스캔 — 파일 목록과 메타데이터(이름·경로·날짜)를 수집해 빠른 검색을 준비하고, ② 문서 인덱싱 — 문서 내용을 읽어 정밀 검색을 준비합니다. 진행 중에는 검색창 아래 알약과 준비 진행 상황 창에서 진행률을 확인할 수 있습니다. Findex processes watched folders in two phases: ① file scan — collecting names, paths, and dates for quick search, and ② document indexing — reading contents for precise search. Progress appears in the pill under the search bar and in the preparation window.

• 빠른 검색은 스캔만 끝나면 완전하게 동작합니다.Quick search is fully functional as soon as the scan finishes.
• 정밀 검색 결과는 문서 인덱싱이 진행될수록 늘어납니다.Precise-search coverage grows as document indexing progresses.
• 폴더별 진행률은 설정 → 감시폴더 탭이나 준비 진행 상황 창에서 확인합니다.Per-folder progress is visible in Settings → Folders or the preparation window.

Boost

Boost — 인덱싱을 빠르게 끝내고 싶을 때Boost — when you want indexing done fast

평소 Findex는 다른 작업을 방해하지 않도록 CPU·메모리 사용을 제한합니다. 문서가 많아 인덱싱을 빨리 끝내고 싶다면 검색창 상단의 번개 버튼으로 Boost를 켜세요. 켜는 순간 지속 시간(1·2·4·8시간 또는 직접 입력, 최대 24시간)을 선택하는 확인 창이 뜨고, 시간이 지나면 자동으로 원래 제한으로 돌아갑니다. Normally Findex caps its CPU and memory so it never disturbs your work. To finish indexing faster, click the lightning button to enable Boost. A confirmation window asks for a duration (1 / 2 / 4 / 8 hours, or custom up to 24h), and limits return to normal automatically when it expires.
